Happy MANI MONDAY!
By this time of the year, I am over dark nails and anticipating the bright, pastel colors that spring offers!
Don’t get me wrong, I love and look forward to new polish collections and cant wait to get my hands on them! However, I also like to go back and look at what I already have for an upcoming season.
So, for spring 2016, I went ahead and picked out a few old (and new) colors from my collection that I feel are the best spring colors to share with you! Enjoy and stay polished!
Essie Cute as a Button
An all time favorite of mine! This is one of the most worn polishes for me in the spring .It’s the perfect coral color. It has more of a pink-red based coral rather than an orange based, which I prefer. You will need to apply at least two coats to get an opaque look. But it dries nicely and looks great on almost any skin tone!
OPI Lucky Lucky Lavendar
Spring is all about pastels, and you can’t think of spring without thinking of the color lavender. With that being said, my favorite lavender color is OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender. You can’t go wrong with this color, the name says so itself!
Because it is a lighter color, it does apply a bit streaky, but after two coats you should be fine. I always get compliments when I wear it and you will too, so pick up a bottle!
OPI Mod About You
BUY IT. This is my Holy Grail nail polish. For a light pink color, it applies opaque in one coat and doesn’t dry streaky, which always seems to be a problem for me with light pink polishes. This is a creamier light pink than most and it looks so good on! This is a must for the upcoming season!
Nubar Lemon Sorbet
I’ve been noticing that lemon is a popular color this season as well. I’ve never purchased yellow colors until recently and I found what I think is the perfect pastel, lemon color! Nubar Lemon Sorbert I is a light, pastel lemon-fizzy color and it’s so pretty on! Unfortunately, it’s hard to find in stores- if at all. I ended up purchases mine online at https://beverlybeaute.com/gel-polish/nubar/2040-nubar-lemon-sorbet-n254–1.html. Or you can check out their website: http://www.bynubar.com/
Julie G 9 to 5
This color is so much fun to wear! It’s a bright peachy cream color. It can be a bit streaky though- I have to apply 3 coats to make it look opaque. This color was created for the working girls out there that aren’t able to get away with fun, crazy bright colors that the warmer months offer, but would like to get away with wearing them. This is the color for you! PLUS it makes your fingers or toes look so tan!
You can purchase Julie G nail polish at Rite Aid or purchase it online at https://www.jessesgirlcosmetics.com/
OPI You’re Such a Budapest
Periwinkle is a popular color this upcoming season and look no further than OPI’s You’re Such a Budapest. This periwinkle-purple color is considered a crème finish, but you will need to add several coats (2-3) in order to get streak free look. But it is a gorgeous color on, don’t get me wrong! That is why it’s one of my favorite colors to wear for spring!
NCLA Let’s Stay Forever
This is a light, sky blue polish. The color is very true to what you see in the bottle, which I love! It applies nicely, but you will need to add more than one coat to avoid streaks. All in all it’s a beautiful color for spring!
OPI Cajun Shrimp
This spicy shade of coral is one of my go-to polishes for a pedicure. This orange undertone crème polish applies smoothly and doesn’t leave any streaks. This also is a one coat good to go polish! If your one of the lucky ones that will be going on spring break in the next few weeks, I recommend getting your mani/pedi in this color. It looks great with a tan!
Essie Chillato
this frozen cream pistachio color is from the summer 2015 collection, but I will defiantly be wearing it again this season! I would apply 3 thin coats to get a true opaque look, but it applies nicely and looks great on!
China Glaze-Re-Freshment
Mint is my go to nail color for spring and China Glaze Re-Freshment is my all time favorite! The color is so bright and fresh and is a true mint green. It applies decently considering it is a pastel color and those are always a little tricky. You can get away with two coats.
Essie Delhi Dance
This is a new purchase of mine for spring but this color is quickly becoming a favorite! I already did a review in my Essie Resort Collection, and the color is described as silky sari pink. It applied extremely opaque! You really only need one coat. I love love this color!
Sally Hansen First Kiss
This polish is also a new purchase for me and I have been wearing it a lot lately. I have been on the hunt for this color for a while and recently purchased it off Amazon. This polish is the perfect combination of peach and coral. It applies smoothly, but you will need two coats to get a nice finish. If you can find this color, buy it!
